Meet neighborbee

neighborbee, an online community based on existing NYC neighborhoods, is a start-up company located in New York City founded by Anthony Lobosco in late 2005.

neighborbee can be defined as a “niche social network.” Anthony created the company based on his own personal experience when he moved to Tribeca and had a difficult time getting information on services and meeting people in his neighborhood.

Based on this need in the marketplace, Anthony developed neighborbee.com, a social network site that offers free access to neighborhood residents online and offline. neighborbee members include residents, businesses, restaurants, associations, neighborhood groups, and buildings. For example, on neighborbee.com, any member of the neighborhood can:

• Publish, read, and compare reviews of local businesses
• Order food or delivery
• Make restaurant reservations
• Get the latest news and events
• View real estate listings
• Communicate with other members of buildings, groups, and the neighborhood.

As of December 2007, neighborbee has signed up 3 neighborhoods: Belmont section of the Bronx (Fordham University), Morningside Heights (Columbia University), and Lincoln Center.
