What am I most excited about at this weekend’s Sketchfest NYC? That’s easy. It’s gonna have to be Dirty Jeans & Thunderchief (preview trailer above). This looks to be the best idea ever to come off the misunderstood lyrics of an AC/DC song. Catch them tonight at 10 pm at UCB.

The show itself will be a full story featuring these two 1970s housewives gone bad. And even if you can’t make it tonight, there’s time throughout the weekend to check out the rest of the Sketchfest NYC lineup. Full schedule is here.

All told, 28 groups from across the country will be converging on the UCB to engage in pre-scripted hilarity. Plus Sunday afternoon features a panel discussion from the funny folk of the Onion News Network. Enjoy…

Well, kids, tonight is looking like an exceptionally stellar Friday night for comedy, so rather than just spotlighting one performer this week, we’re gonna give you a list of shows to have on your radar. Don’t have plans yet for tonight? We’re about to solve your problem…

1. B.J. Novak You know him as Ryan, the temp turned corporate overlord on The Office . But did you also know he also did standup? You can catch him making the Ha-Ha, tonight though Sunday at Caroline’s on Broadway. Shows at 8 and 10:30. Tickets a steep $27-$31. But come on, the guy’s on national television.

2. Kurt and Kristen in Double Down Hearts The Kristen in “Kurt and Kristen” is Kristen Schaal, best known to fans of Flight of the Conchords as the group’s biggest/only groupie, Mel. tonight she and her partner in comedy, Kurt Braunohler, preview the show they’ll be taking across the pond to the famed Edinburgh Fringe Festival. See it at the PIT tonight at 11 for only $8, which is seriously cheaper than buying a plane ticket to Scotland and seeing it there.

3. Mike Birbiglia: 60 Minutes of New Comedy Mike is one of the best standups working today, and he’s currently putting together a new act. Come watch the creative process–and help it along by laughing when the urge hits–at the UCB tonight at 8 pm. It costs $8 to get in the door. After that, the laughter is free.

If you are reading this post, you have probably heard of The Internet. Good for you! To learn even more about it, watch the video above. It contains loads of very informative information about all those Interweb terms that have long confounded both you and your grandma. Afterwards, you’ll probably want to learn more about Max Silvestri, i.e. the guy in the tan suit and no shoes. Start by clicking here.

Then, to see Max live, drop by his new weekly show Big Terrific (which he’s doing with Gabe Liedman and Jenny Slate! Remember them? ). Big Terrific takes places every Thursday at 8 p.m. at Sound Fix in Williamsburg. What exactly will you see there? “I think what people can expect from Big Terrific is talented and famous guests alongside Gabe, Jenny, and I trying to constantly make one another other laugh in a very silly and charming way,” Max explains. “Everything else will be UNEXPECTED. Sometimes there will be bands, sometimes there will be videos and occasionally there might be animals.”

If it’s a Thursday night–this coming one or any other–you’d be well-advised to head down to Rififi for the standup showcase Totally J/K (8 pm, $5) hosted by Joe Mande and Noah Garfinkel .

Each week, before Joe and Noah let any comedians come up and do their thing, they toss a few new entries onto their ever-evolving List of Nothing. "It’s basically a huge notepad that we add to each week," Joe explains. "The list is comprised of terrible ideas–puns mostly–that we’ve rejected as premises for sketches or videos because they’re so retarded." Sounds like something you’d love to read, right? To give you a taste of their show, Joe and Noah have shared some of their favorite entries from the list after the jump.

Leibya Spells Freedom from Leibya Rogers on Vimeo .

Meet Leibya Rogers. Well, OK, we admit, her mother didn’t really name her Leibya. That’s only the name she uses when she performs. You know, kind of like an American Gladiator. There’s Wolf. There’s Venom. There’s… Leibya.

Are we going to tell you her real name? Nope. Instead, how ’bout you just check out her original musical composition above. (Warning: Lyrics NSFW) Then go see her live at W.R.A.G. Fest (Womyn. Rocking. Are. Godly.) Wednesday at 9:30 at The Tank . Admission is a lowly $5. If that’s too steep for you, you can visit her MySpace page .

Couch potatoes are familiar with New York comedian Judah Friedlander from his roles on 30 Rock and Best Week Ever, but active types can go see his standup live this Thursday through Sunday (May 15-18) at Carolines on Broadway.

On stage, Judah plays the World Champion, a character who, quite frankly, is better than you at everything. On the phone, Judah calmly discussed impersonating himself, painting Sasquatch, and how you can buy one of his 30 Rock hats.

Gabe and Jenny are New York’s premier comedy couple who will never actually be a couple. And in this video they perform what many critics have lauded as the most accurate impression of Rosie O’Donnell ever captured on film. But warning: The video contains poopy talk and maybe also the sound of Gabe and Jenny repeatedly vomiting, so you might want to put on some headphones instead of cranking it over your workplace speakers.

Wanna know more about Gabe and Jenny? First of all, they have last names! Gabe’s is Liedman. Jenny’s is Slate. Also, they have websites! Here’s one for the duo . And here’s one for just Gabe.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the comedic stylings of Greg Johnson.

Why Greg Johnson? Well, for exactly three years now, Greg’s been holding down Friday nights at Rififi, and he’s celebrating tonight with a blowout anniversary show. A mere sampling of tonight’s lineup: Greg, stand-up legend Todd Barry, The Daily Show’s John Oliver and Best Week Ever’s Nick Kroll. All for a mere $5.

So check out this sampling of Greg’s material, then see you tonight at 8 pm at Rififi (332 E. 11th St, between 1st and 2nd Aves). Can’t make it tonight, so you’d prefer to stalk Greg at some later date in the future? Check out his blog or mayhaps his MySpace page .

So here’s what I’m thinking: This will be one of the few times you have to deal with me blabbering. I’m Adam, and I’ll be covering the NYC comedy scene for neighborbee, but I’m going to do it by saying as little as possible.

Instead, I’ll be turning this space over to the comedians themselves and letting them entertain you for a couple hundred words. If they make you giggle, awesome. Do them a solid and go check out their show. If they make you frown… um, that sucks. Quickly scan the rest of this blog, where your mood will be instantly buoyed by some very amusing bee puns.
