Bee Green: eWaste Recycling Event

One of the largest problems with our increasingly digitized age is what to do with all of our electronic stuff when it breaks or becomes obsolete. On top of the sheer tonnage, eWaste has toxic components (lead, mercury), that contaminate soil and make groundwater undrinkable.

This is why events like this Saturday’s electronic recycling drive are so great. Hosted by Tekserve and Lower East Side Ecology Center , you can get rid of your old computers, printers, phones and cameras in an ecologically responsible way, AND get a chance to win a MacBook Air or iPod Touch!

This neighborbee will be dropping off the 7.5 lb Dell laptop and external CD burner that’s been collecting dust under her bed for 4 years, that’s for sure.
