Bee Spiritual: Get relaxed with Marissa

The Holidays have long been a time of reckoning and reflection. With all of the energy and the buzz of NY, be sure to really take the time to come back into your own by decompressing. For the next couple of weeks, feel free to keep yourself busy by not only feeding your minds and bodies, but also your souls.
Thanksgiving in particular is a chance to pay homage to all you are thankful for. Opening up to the Universe and recognizing that there are people who have a fate much worse than your own. Realizing how blessed you are to (hopefully) be in good health and surrounded by good people. A time to pray for friends, family members and whole societies who do not bare the same good fortune as you.
“The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.” - H. U Westermayer
Tip #3: Acknowledge the fact that you are a spirit with a physical body, not a physical body with a spirit. If you can really accept this idea, it will change your attitude towards many things in your life.
Forgo the meat this year, and enhance your compassion. However, be sure not to overlook taste! How does a little Deep Fried Tofurkey sound this year? Here is what you need, and by the way - Whole Foods should have all of what you need:
- 1 Tofurky roast, thawed according to package directions
- 2 tbsp margarine, softened (optional)
- 1/4 cup cajun or creole seasoning (optional)
- Peanut oil for frying
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Cover tofurky roast in foil and bake for one hour. Remove from oven remove foil, and allow to cool for 3 minutes. Rub with margarine and seasoning (optional). Fry in a deep fryer until golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes. And, enjoy your guilt-free, pleasure-ridden meal! Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sparing life.
How aware are you? Did you notice you hold your breath? Bite your lip? The dynamic husband-wife team, Ariel & Shya Kane are here to reveal a brand new experience of being in a heightened state of awareness, and fully centered. To register in advance, either visit here (check out the NYC listings) or call 908-479-6034.
