Concierge Corner: Marissa’s got treats for you

Happy Spooky Day folks. If you are one of those people I saw dressed up in a costume this morning on the A train, then God Bless you. I am sure your company is having a costume party today, and there is a big pot involved, but lets just say you have more chutzpah than I. Now, if you are dressed like a burrito then you would simply be my hero. Once a year Chipotle gives away free food. Well, not just food but burritos. And they are only giving it away to Burritos. So get your tortilla gear on, find a substitute for sour cream and guacamole. Then ask yourself if it’s worth walking through the city, or even worse, around work for a $5 burrito. Some will say yes. I, however, will opt out of the walking-flour-fold myself. Find the nearest Chipotle by plugging in your zip code here.

If that isn’t really in your stars, then have a read below. And please get back to me on how many Sarah Palin outfits you see today. Have a great week!

The Week(end) Ahead

Happening Hotels : For all of you art/hospitality enthusiasts, hold onto your (artsy) seat. Not only have they finished renovations, but they are revolutionizing the museum scene of NYC. The Guggenheim Museum plays hotel to us New Yorkers. Introducing the “Revolving Hotel Room” an installation by Carsten Höller. The room sits on four glass discs which rotate, slowly, but they rotate. Inside this room are the basics of a hotel room - bed, mirror, desk and dresser. It’s part of “theanyspacewhatever” exhibition, an exploration of a group of ten artists using the museum as their medium. Rates vary, as do the types of people who will choose to stay, but it does pay to be a student since there is a discount. Rockin’ Restaurants : As it gets colder in the city, I am sure you dream of visiting faraway places.   Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and India are all now in one place; And, your taste buds will thank you immensely.  Pranna , another oversized restaurant in Midtown-area (Flatiron) has opened. It has two dining rooms, two bars, counter seating at their open kitchen and a basement hangout with a communal table. If you had ever been to Sapa (who will soon be the new restaurant Nuela), the food may taste familiar as their chef is now here. Peter Hoffman - the renowned chef/owner, will be celebrating the first brunch at his restaurant, and cooking it himself! Perhaps a washing down with a Honey Margarita will be in order; Especially if you won that costume contest at work. 190 Avenue B, at 12th St; 212-388-1990.

Bee Here : Or there, or anywhere. “Meet In Between” takes the inconvenience out of having to meet up wtih people when no destination is chosen. Forget those awkward moments of sitting on the NY Public Library Steps or having to surf around Grand Central just to catch up with your pal for some drinks after work. A website based on fairness of friendship, they pick out an exact locale that is dead in the middle of both of your locations.  Using words like bar, hotel, coffee shop or um “Apple Store”, you can not only show off about knowing the city, but you can single handley set the mood for the night. Start them off with a drink, cappuccino or waste their time by checking out the Ipod Touch before you make it there. Then, once you decide on a spot, MIB provides a permalinked map so you can send it to your friend and they have no excuse to not find you, or it.

Trick and Treat those around you today!
